Advanced Groups

The video provides a tutorial on how to use Vasion Print's Advanced Groups feature for precise printer deployment management by assigning printers based on specific user and location criteria.

Create an Advanced Group

1. In the Admin Console, navigate to Tools Advanced Groups.
2. Select Add in the upper-right.
3. Enter the name and description (optional).
4. Select Save
5. Use the Operation drop-down to select from the following:
   1. Contained In — an object (User, Group, IP Address Range, etc) that determines where the printer is deployed.
   2. Excluding — an object that is excluded from a printer deployment.
6. Use the Value drop-down to select from the following:
   1. Active Directory User, Computer, or Group.
   2. Active Directory Container or OU.
   3. IP Address Range.
   4. Hostname.
   5. MAC Address.
   6. Terminal Service Session.
7. Follow the steps to find your object and select Add.
8. Once you've added all the rule types, select Save on the top right-hand corner.
